At its much-anticipated Capital Markets Day last week, BP fully laid to rest its once industry-leading energy transition strategy, taking bolder steps than many anticipated on the depths of its capital spending pivot. But so far, investors have responded tepidly to the reset given the execution required to translate the new strategy into compelling shareholder returns.
