  • While BP, Shell and TotalEnergies remain confident there is huge demand for electric vehicle charging services, which complement their legacy fuel retail and convenience arms, their earlier charging plans and targets have been watered down as other business areas have taken priority. The three Europe-based majors continue to expand their charging networks but more slowly, with lower or fuzzy targets and in fewer countries than just a few years ago.
