A bipartisan group of 50 US senators on Tuesday introduced legislation that would impose sweeping sanctions on Russia and tariffs on countries that buy its oil and gas if Russian President Vladimir Putin refuses to engage in good-faith negotiations to end the war in Ukraine or breaches any agreements that are reached.
