Lukoil, Gazprom Confront Overseas Challenges

Russian majors are running into problems overseas that are holding up projects and forcing them to review their plans. The main barriers are linked to geological, financial and bureaucratic issues. But sanctions imposed on Russia and its energy sector by the West for its invasion of Ukraine do not make things easier. At the very least, the glitches look set to reduce Russian companies' abilities to expand in foreign markets.
