About Luke LUKE JOHNSON is Editor of Petroleum Intelligence Weekly, our premier publication founded in 1961. Luke has worked as a reporter for ʶԳ since 2017, covering a variety of beats in the Houston bureau, including US independents, North American deepwater, oil-field services and, most recently, decarbonization technologies like hydrogen, CCS and e-fuels. He is based in Toronto. Prior to joining ʶԳ, Luke was Americas Editor for Upstream Online, where he worked for seven years. Before moving to Houston in 2010, he covered international news and politics for the Straits Times newspaper in Singapore, and sports for China Daily in Beijing during the run-up to the 2008 Summer Olympics. Luke earned a master’s degree in journalism from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, and a bachelor’s degree in English from Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota. He grew up in Northern California.
