MASSOUD DERHALLY is Mideast News Editor and oversees regional news coverage from ʶԳ’s Dubai bureau.

He has more than two decades of reporting and consulting experience in the Middle East and North Africa. Massoud previously served as Business Editor of The National newspaper in the UAE, reported for Bloomberg News and Agence France-Presse (AFP), and freelanced for Dow Jones Newswires/Wall Street Journal and the New York Times, among other media organizations.

Massoud has covered a range of economic and political stories, including major events like the Arab Spring uprisings, IMF World Bank meetings, the World Economic Forum, the 2008-09 Gaza war and the 2006 Lebanon war. He has interviewed numerous senior government officials and company executives, from US Secretary of State Colin Powell to TotalEnergies CEO Patrick Pouyanne and Oracle’s Larry Ellison.

Massoud holds an M.A. in International Studies & Diplomacy from the University of London’s SOAS, and an M.Sc. in Management and Business Administration from Boston University.
