But when viewed through a more specific lens, the properties, when combined with aggressive attempts to sell its Texas City refinery and billions of dollars in producing deepwater Gulf of Mexico fields, show BP unspooling a fair amount of the remaining assets purchased during the Amoco and Arco takeovers of the late 1990s -- the assets upon which John Browne's era was based.
