Ukraine’s natural resources have become a key focus of the country’s diplomatic efforts to persuade the US not to abandon its military support in the ongoing war with Russia. Kyiv says it received the latest version of a US proposal to jointly develop Ukraine’s critical mineral and energy assets and allow the US to recoup its support on Mar. 28. US President Donald Trump has since said his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskiy would have “big problems” if he tried to renegotiate the deal. ʶԳ looks at what reserves Ukraine has to offer, the terms of the revised proposal, and the risks of imposing an imbalanced deal.
