May gas futures climbed 4.3¢ Tuesday to $3.386 per million Btu. The day’s increase may have been “a continuation of [Monday’s] short covering rally that caught market participants off guard as May ’25 contracts expired,” NatGasWeather.com explained. Looking ahead, long-term weather forecasts predict higher-than-average temperatures for much of the US. “While Spring is showing itself to be relatively mild, summer is projected to be hotter for the majority of the US, especially in the West and Southern regions of the Lower 48,” Gelber & Associates said.
