Top Mexican government officials will be joining the 35th Oil & Money Conference in London to host a special forum on the country’s forthcoming, historic bid round. The conference, which is hosted by the International New York Times and ʶԳ, brings together world energy industry leaders, influencers and policymakers to the InterContinental Hotel in London on 29th and 30th October to discuss the global energy outlook. The Mexican officials’ attendance represents a significant opportunity for delegates to speak openly with the decision makers before the formal bidding process for Round One begins.

The Mexican government officials include María de Lourdes Melgar Palacios, Undersecretary of Hydrocarbons, Ministry of Energy, Miguel Messmacher Linartas, Undersecretary for Revenue, Ministry of Finance and Public Credit and Juan Carlos Zepeda Molina, President Commissioner of the National Hydrocarbons Commission. As Mexico's government advances with its plans to hold an ambitious first upstream bid round next year, the government officials will be presenting the details and answering key questions. This special forum is scheduled for the afternoon of Wednesday, October 30th.

Tom Wallin, Editor in Chief at ʶԳ said:

“This is a historic event in terms of energy reform for Mexico, but also for the global energy sector as a whole. Many of the world’s energy industry leaders and investors are keen to see how this unfolds and to understand the opportunities and the framework for the first bidding round”.

Stephen Dunbar-Johnson, President, International, The New York Times Company, said:

“Opening up the Mexican oil industry to foreign investment marks a real turning point for the country and a major development for the global energy sector. During a time of momentous change, we pride ourselves on offering industry leaders with the vision to guide them through such a transition. We believe this special forum could not be more relevant to the conference.”

The special forum on the Mexico bid round will be open to conference delegates and other interested parties that are not attending the full conference.
