Work started more than two years ago on the experiment aimed at reaching carbon neutrality in the Sakhalin region in Russia's Far East by the end of 2025. Despite new geopolitical realities, the plans have not been changed or delayed, and new solutions have been found to continue moving towards a climate-responsible economy. Milena Milich, Sakhalin's governor envoy on climate and sustainable development, who started this green economy reform as regional minister of ecology and sustainability, told ʶԳ about the project's achievements, challenges and goals.
