Utilities are undergoing a major low-carbon transformation. Lower-carbon portfolios are taking shape at significant volumes, at a fairly swift pace, and with a much wider geographical reach than before. In a milestone for the geographical side, the winner of ʶԳ's annual ranking of the top 100 green utilities and independent power producers (IPP) is a non-European company for the first time, China National Nuclear Corp. (CNNC). It has displaced Spain's infrastructure conglomerate and IPP Acciona, ranked second this year after nine years in first position.
