Shell Energy North America, a subsidiary of UK major Shell, has entered into a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) for the last 31 megawatts of available capacity from start-up Fervo Energy's flagship Cape Station enhanced geothermal project in Beaver County, Utah. Houston-based Fervo said Tuesday that the agreement will make Shell "the first offtaker to receive electrons" from the first phase of its Cape Station development, which is set to come on line in 2026.
