UK-based Carbon Clean is making serious headway on what it sees as a modular, cost-effective approach to carbon capture. With 49 operational sites globally, the company is targeting hard-to-abate sectors like steel, cement, oil and gas. The modular carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology, which the company has dubbed CycloneCC, recently completed 4,000 operating hours over a six-month period. That moves up the technology readiness level to TRL-7 out of 9 levels — meaning it is nearing commercial deployment.
