US President Donald Trump grabbed the majority of headlines at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, last week defending his decision to again withdraw the US from the Paris Agreement, which came amid his open resistance to renewables via domestic policy moves. Yet, during Davos sessions on the environment and climate change, a central theme among speakers was that the energy transition has its own momentum beyond the US and supportive countries, and companies will push it forward, regardless of Trump’s hard line on the topic.
