Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) has raised eyebrows with its recent withdrawals from European large reactor tenders in which Westinghouse is also competing, given these moves largely follow January's global settlement with Westinghouse over a long-standing intellectual property (IP) dispute. But South Korea's state-owned nuclear champions are now making a “good faith” effort to rebuild their commercial relationship with US-based Westinghouse, while perhaps helping restore bilateral civil nuclear cooperation between Seoul and Washington.
